International students requesting an I-20 should indicate their visa
needs on their application for admission and submit current* financial
Documents which include:
1. Original Bank Statement indicating available** funds totaling $25,372
in USD. We cannot accept faxed or copied documents.
2. Complete an
Affidavit of Support if funds are from a source other than the
applicant.
3. A photocopy of your passport or I-94 card.
4. A permanent international address.
If you are transferring from another US college, university or
institution, you must also complete and submit the
Transfer Release Form.
*Current financial documents must be dated no earlier than 6 months
prior to the start of the entry term.
**Funds must be in Savings, Checking, Certificate of Deposit or Money
Market accounts only. Please note that if you are including a
dependant(s) on the I-20 your bank statement must include an additional
$5,000 US dollars for the first Dependent and $3,000 US Dollars for each
additional dependent. All requests for an I-20 will be processed within
10 business days of receiving the above documentation and an admissions
decision.
MPS/ELA Students, should reflect an additional amount of $5,000 US
dollars on financial documents (total required: $30,372 US dollars) to
receive an I-20.
I-20 Processing
Once we have the required documents and an admission decision has been
made on your application, the I-20 will be completed within 7-10
business days.
I-20s are processed in the order received and therefore, your patience
is appreciated. It is best to refrain from scheduling consulate
appointments until you have received your I-20 paperwork from DePaul
University.
