Most of our diverse, highly qualified students take courses part-time
while pursuing a professional career. Their experience includes
government agencies, associations, public policy, philanthropy, health
care administration, metropolitan planning and urban affairs, and
international public service management. You can meet our graduates
everywhere in the nonprofit and government sectors and in a few
for-profit locations.
Our alumni include the former President and CEO of the Association Forum of
Chicago-land; Lieutenant, Illinois State Police; Researcher, The
Brookings Institute; Manager, DCFS;
budget and health care analysts in the public and nonprofit sectors; and
executive directors of national professional associations.
"I was just sitting at my desk writing a very complicated grant to
the Gates Foundation and realized that I use my graduate school learning
every single day of my life. I’m in the process of designing objective
indicators for measurement of our program and it hit me that the DePaul
program was the best thing I could have done to prepare for my job here.
So, I’m writing to say thanks!"
-Anissa Listak
Director of Development & Community Relations with the Academy of
Urban School Leadership in Chicago
"The MPS program was a life changing event for me. Even after 20
years in nonprofit work, I learned a body of knowledge I had never been
exposed to previously, and it has had a profound impact on how I do my
job. Plus, faculty and students have become friends and resources, which
also enhances my career. If you are serious about a nonprofit career,
the MPS program is a must."
-Chris Mahaffey, CAE, M.S.
Former President and CEO
Association Forum of Chicago-land
"I have nothing but praise for the program. What I enjoyed most about
the program is the genuine interest the staff has in the progression of
every student through the program. The faculty is topnotch and brings
experiences from the real world into the classroom. I have recommended
the DePaul program to several colleagues in the Public Administration
field, and will gladly do so in the future!"
-Donna M. Guerin
Assistant Village Manager
Village of Schiller Park
"What I tell people most often about my MPS experience at DePaul is that
I use what I learned every day. Whether it is practical, hands-on advice
or the ability to analyze the big picture, my MPS classes gave me a
variety of excellent skills."
-Beth Leuck
Executive Director
United Way of Hinsdale Area
"The international opportunities offered by the MPS program are truly
remarkable, for they provide both current students and alum an
opportunity to examine the nonprofit sector with a global perspective."
-Dr. Michael Gibbs
Former Assistant Vice President
DePaul University
"Some say the easiest things done well are often harder than the
toughest things done mediocre. The same may be said for the Master of
Health Law & Policy. The HLP Program provides students with first-rate
instruction on the basics of analytical and quantitative reasoning. In
turn, these students become professionals who have a solid foundation
and focus to tackle the difficult decisions they face in the real world.
If one is searching for mediocrity, there is no reason to apply to
DePaul's Master of
Health Law Program."
-Jennifer A. Herd
Chicago Department of Public Health

Each year the MPS Program hosts
an installment of its Public Services Lecture series and invites a
distinguished guest speaker.
UN Ambassador Ahmad Kamal spoke to a
captivated audience of nearly two hundred
for the 12th Annual Public
Services Lecture
held at the Hilton Towers on October 6, 2005.
His
lecture, entitled “Global Leadership: The United Nations and the
Millennium Development Challenge,” encouraged the youth of the world
to see the elimination of global poverty as an achievable goal.
